Elderly Woman Dies in Accident on NE 68th Street and 112th Avenue NE
KIRKLAND, WA (March 2, 2018) – A 78-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car on 112th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 68th Street on Friday afternoon.
When first responders arrived at the scene of the crash, an elderly woman was found trapped under an SUV. Emergency personnel were able to extricate the victim and transport her to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to reports, the unidentified woman was walking south on NE 68th near the intersection with 112th, when she was struck. She was walking in an area with no marked crosswalk.
Police officials continue to investigate the cause of the accident. Based on preliminary information, no drugs or alcohol seem to be contributing factors. The identity of the elderly woman involved in the fatal incident has not yet been released to the public, pending notification of her family.
