Kimberly Perez and Anthony Rodriguez Dies in Head-On Crash on US 82 [Lubbock, TX]

Lubbock, TX (December 13, 2023) On December 6, Wednesday evening, 31-year-old Kimberly Perez and 34-year-old Anthony Rodriguez died while 28-year-old Tanner Gillispie was hurt in a wrong-way crash on US 82.

According to DPS, the fatal wrong-way collision happened on US Highway 82, west of Seymour.

Reports say that an eastbound pickup truck, driven by Gillispie, for unknown reasons, started driving on the wrong side of US 82 and consequently colliding head-on with a passenger car occupied by driver Rodriguez, and his passenger Perez.

DPS pronounced both Rodriguez, and Perez, both from Lubbock, dead at the scene, while Gillispie was transported to Seymour Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

Authorities are investigating the probable cause of the fatal collision.
