Kevin Raspperry Detained for DUI Following Deadly Multi-Vehicle Crash at Tropicana Avenue and South Rainbow Boulevard
LAS VEGAS, NV (October 28, 2019)—Sunday’s DUI multi-vehicle collision at Tropicana Avenue and South Rainbow Boulevard turned deadly.
Reports described the fatal victim as a 65-year-old man and driver of a Nissan Pathfinder. Police confirmed that his passenger, a 66-year-old woman, suffered life-threatening injuries.
Around 8:00 a.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrived on the scene after receiving reports.
They learned that a 2014 Toyota Avalon heading west on Tropicana Avenue sped through a red light and struck the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. Both cars then traveled to the southwest section of the road, where the Pathfinder went airborne and struck a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt stopped at a red light.
From there, the Pathfinder continued rolling and struck a 2006 Toyota Scion XB’s hood before striking a 2015 Toyota RAV4. The RAV4 then rammed into an RTC bus stopped at a red light.
Meanwhile, the Toyota Avalon continued and struck the median before coming to a stop. Authorities believe the debris from the crash hit a nearby 2017 Nissan Altima stopped just west of the collision site.
Police say Kevin Raspperry, 34, demonstrated signs of impairment at the scene and arrested him shortly after. Authorities booked him into Clark County Detention Center for DUI resulting in death and other charges.
In addition, the 41-year-old female RAV4 driver sustained serious injuries while the 34-year-old male Avalon driver suffered moderate injuries. As a result, paramedics transported the 38-year-old male bus driver to a hospital with serious wounds.
Our law firm would like to take this moment to express our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
