Kevin Cruz Montesinos and 2 Others Killed in Big Rig Collision on Highway 33 [Fresno County, CA]

Fresno County, CA (May 19, 2023) – On Thursday morning, Kevin Cruz Montesinos, 21, Amancio Hildago, 77, and Juan Cortez, 53, all of them from Raisin City, were killed in a big rig collision on Highway 33.

The accident report said a big rig was northbound on the freeway just past 5 a.m. wherein there is no stop sign.

At the same time, a sedan driven by Cortez was eastbound on Manning Avenue wherein the stop sign “cross traffic does not stop” is on a red flashing light.

The sedan failed to stop at the intersection and drove in front of the big rig that was unable to avoid the collision

Unfortunately, Cortez and his passenger, Montesinos, died at the crash scene while Hildago later died at the hospital.

Julio Caballero, the owner of the big rig company said his 23-year-old male driver is cooperating with the investigation.

The CHP is investigating the fatal collision.
