1 Passenger Died, Kenneth Fischer Injured in State Route 36 Stice Road Collision
Red Bluff, CA (June 3, 2020)– A deadly collision on State Route 36 E east of Stice Road led to the arrest of the driver Kenneth Fischer on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on June 2 on State Route 36E east of Stice Road at about 2:40 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Fischer was traveling westbound on SR 36 driving a 2000 Ford Ranger.
Reports said that Fischer left the roadway to the north and attempted to go back on it again. Fischer lost control of his truck and spun across the highway until it struck an embankment.
The passenger in the truck, a 40-year-old Pelkin, Illinois man, succumbed to his injuries, according to the CHP press release. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Moreover, Fischer was arrested after showing symptoms of driving under the influence. However, shortly after his arrest, authorities brought him to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital over major injuries.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time during clean-up and preliminary duties. However, the roadway since reopened to traffic
