Injury Reported on Fatal Comanche County Collision
Comanche County, TX (March 21, 2025) – 47-year-old Kelley Jo Wellmaker of Brownwood was killed Thursday afternoon, while another driver was hurt in a tragic 2-car crash on SH 16.
According to authorities, the deadly crash happened at about 1:18 p.m. near Comanche County Medical Center.
Reports say that the fatal crash claimed the life of a Brownwood woman Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to State Highway 16, about half a mile north of CR 413, at 1:18 p.m. after a two-vehicle collision.
Investigators determined that a driver attempted to turn left onto SH 16 from a private drive but failed to yield to oncoming traffic. A pickup then crashed into the sedan.
The sedan’s driver, Wellmaker was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver suffered minor injuries.
