Three Young Adults Fatally Injured in Solo-Car Crash near Highway 12

FAIRFIELD, CA (November 9, 2018) – Three people were killed early Friday morning following a solo-car crash on Interstate 80. The deceased victims were later identified as 18-year-old Katie Good of Sacramento, 20-year-old Diamond Day of Elk Grove, and 19-year-old Mary Grosvenor of Stockton.

As per reports, the incident took place shortly before 5:30 AM near Highway 12. A blue Hyundai Elantra, driven by Day, was heading east on I-80 at a high rate of speed when it clipped a guardrail, overturned, and struck a large support pillar.

Day, Good, and Grosvenor all suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify other possible contributing factors. It is unclear if drugs and alcohol were involved. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Solano County CHP Office by calling (707) 428-2100. Additional information will be released to the public, once it becomes available.
