Katelyn Rogers Struck, Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver on 113th Street South Near 10th Avenue South
PARKLAND, WA (May 14, 2019) – A 10-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in Saturday’s hit-and-run crash on 113th Street South near 10th Avenue South.
The 7:30 p.m. crash took place in the 900 block of 113th Street South.
According to reports, a black SUV believed to be a Nissan Pathfinder, struck 10-year-old Katelyn Rogers. A home security surveillance system showed the girl riding her scooter when seconds later, the SUV speeds down the street and hits her.
Rogers was riding her scooter with her father in front of their home when the incident happened. The child suffered a broken leg, pelvis and arm before undergoing surgery the following morning.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department urges anyone with information concerning the driver’s whereabouts to call them. A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information that will lead to the suspect’s arrest.
