Riverside Chain-Reaction Crash Injures Juvenile

Riverside, CA (October 11, 2021) – On Saturday, a juvenile pedestrian was critically injured in crash on Jackson Street.

The chain-reaction crash occurred just before 3:45 p.m. when a northbound Mercedes SUV ran a red light and struck a westbound Chevrolet Cruze on Garfield Street.

The collision made one of the vehicles to hit the juvenile while in a crosswalk, crossing Jackson Street.

The force of the impact threw the victim into a Toyota Camry that was stopped at the red light for southbound Jackson Street.

“The juvenile sustained serious injuries and was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition,” an officer said.

Meanwhile, the authorities did not say whether impaired driving was a factor in the accident, which is still being investigated.

As a pedestrian, always make sure that we are using the crosswalks whenever we cross the street.
