Atascadero, CA (January 27, 2023) – On Thursday morning, a female juvenile sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on El Camino Real.

Atascadero police said the pedestrian was crossing a crosswalk at the intersection with East Mall. Afterward, a southbound driver, who didn’t see her due to the sun in her eyes, struck the pedestrian.

Authorities say the pedestrian incurred minor scrapers on her hand and was not taken to the hospital.

Officers reopened El Camino Real as of 8:10 A.M.
