Doctor Justin Schultz Cetas Die in Motorcycle Crash on Kino Parkway in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (July 14, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, 51-year-old Justin Schultz Cetas died in a motorcycle crash on Kino Parkway.
The fatal crash in Tucson happened after 1 p.m. on July 13 in the 2900 block of South Kino Parkway.
Tucson Police said the collision involved a black 2021 BMW R18 motorcycle and a white 2005 Ford F650 tow truck.
Reportedly, Cetas was heading north on Kino Parkway in the median lane when the driver of a tow truck tried to make a left turn in front of the motorcyclist.
Emergency crews transported the victim to the Banner University Medical Center where he later died.
The tow truck driver then immediately stopped and cooperated with the police.
Investigators said the truck driver showed no signs of impairment.
Moreover, they determined the tow truck driver failing to yield was the “major contributing factor” to the crash.
The victim was identified as Justin Cetas, MD, Ph.D., and Chair of Neurosurgery at UArizona.
Further investigation is underway.
