Justin King Dies in Multi-Car Collision on Highway 50 Near North Deer Run Road
CARSON CITY, NV (November 7, 2019)— A 47-year-old Dayton man died Saturday afternoon following a three-car collision along Highway 50 near North Deer Run Road.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Justin King died in the 3:45 p.m. crash.
A preliminary investigation determined that a white 1995 Ford Crown Victoria had been traveling west along Highway 50 approaching the intersection with North Deer Run Road. Meanwhile, King, operating an eastbound Ford Ranger, collided with the westbound Crown Victoria seconds after.
Investigators learned that the Crown Victoria crossed into the eastbound travel lanes before hitting the 1991 black Ford Ranger head-on and causing the pickup truck to roll. A silver 2008 Toyota Prius, traveling behind the Ford Ranger, struck the Ranger and forced it onto its right side.
As a result of the impact, King, 47, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The NHP is seeking witnesses’ help in identifying the cause and events preceding the crash. It’s unclear whether the other drivers suffered any injuries or if impairment played a factor; however, a follow-up investigation continues.
