Driver Arrested After Hitting Pedestrian at West County Mall Parking Lot
St. Louis, MO (October 11, 2025) – Authorities arrested Justin Gauda of Florissant after he allegedly struck a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash at the West County Mall parking lot.
Police say, that Gauda hit a man with his vehicle, leaving the victim with serious injuries. Witnesses quickly provided officers with details about the car and its license plate, which helped authorities locate the vehicle in Franklin County shortly after the crash.
When officers attempted to pull Gauda over, he reportedly tried to escape again. Police deployed spike strips to stop him, and he was taken into custody. During questioning, Gauda admitted to intentionally running over the victim.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged him with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and leaving the scene of an accident. He remains in custody on a $1 million bond.
