Julio Cesar Uribe Killed in Collision on Interstate 69 [Cleveland, TX]

Cleveland, TX (May 22, 2023) – On Sunday morning, 18-year-old Julio Cesar Uribe sustained fatal injuries following a traffic collision on Interstate 69.

According to investigators, the deputies tried to pull an SUV over for speeding but the driver got off the freeway and onto the feeder road. 

The driver took a very sharp curve but lost control of the vehicle and rolled down an embankment.

Uribe was thrown from the vehicle and was declared dead at the scene.

Moreover, officers said the driver ran from the scene but they later arrested him. Another passenger also ran from the crash scene.

There is no information on the charges the driver will face, though DPS officials said he will likely be charged with evading arrest and additional charges.
