Juan Oliveras Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 152 [HOLLISTER, CA]

Head-On Crash on Highway 152 at Lovers Lane Kills 1 and Injures 2

 
HOLLISTER, CA (October 30, 2019) – A man died following a head-on crash Wednesday morning in southern Santa Clara County.
 
The crash happened around 6:20 a.m. on Highway 152 east of Lovers Lane.
 
According to reports, a 2005 Toyota Tundra was heading westbound on the highway when an eastbound 2008 Toyota Sienna crossed the double yellow lines into the westbound lane. The two vehicles collided head-on.
 
As a result, the driver of the Sienna died from his injuries. Authorities identified him as a Juan Oliveras, 27, of Palo Alto.
 
The Tundra driver, a 32-year-old Los Banos man, was taken to Regional Medical Center of San Jose with major injuries.
 
Meanwhile, Olivera’s passenger, a 23-year-old Palo Alto woman, was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
 
Officers shut down the highway in both directions for more than three hours while they worked on the scene. They do not believe impairment was a factor.
 
The fatal crash remains under investigation.
