Juan Morales Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on Lander Avenue [Turlock, CA]

Juan Morales of Turlock Killed, Francisco Javier Castellon-Gonzalez Arrested in Lander Avenue Crash

 
Turlock, CA (May 04, 2021) – On Monday, bicyclist Juan Morales, 50, of Turlock died, while the authorities arrested Francisco Javier Castellon-Gonzalez, 22, of Modesto in a hit-and-run crash on Lander Avenue.
 
The officers received the fatal crash report at around 12:37 a.m. near Castor Street.
 
Officers said Morales was struck and critically injured by a white GMC pickup truck.
 
Immediately, responding officers took him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
Meanwhile, people who saw the crash followed the GMC truck, and tried to get the suspect driver to pull over.
 
However, Castellon-Gonzalez refused to pull over. He continued driving out into the county, where the vehicle subsequently crashed on Crows Landing Road.
 
They contacted Castellon-Gonzalez and he agreed to come into the Turlock Police Department to provide a statement.
 
Finally, they arrested and booked Castellon-Gonzalez at the Stanislaus County Jail Monday night.
