1 Injured in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on California Avenue

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 6, 2020) – Tuesday night, 22-year-old Juan Jose Garcia hit and injured a pedestrian on California Avenue.
 
The incident occurred at around 9:12 p.m. on Chamberlain Avenue at East California Avenue.
 
According to the CHP, “Garcia was traveling eastbound at approximately 35 miles per hour. However, the pedestrian ran directly in front of him.”
 
Thus, he failed to stop and struck the pedestrian.
 
Furthermore, Juan Jose Garcia remained at the scene and didn’t show signs of impairment.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the seriously injured pedestrian to Kern Medical Center. Also, the authorities shut down the No. 1 lanes of eastbound and westbound California Avenue.
 
The crash remains under active investigation.
