Guermocindo Gonzalez Arrested, Juan De Rios Cisneros ID’d as Passenger Killed in Coachella Accident

COACHELLA, CA (December 14, 2021) – Monday night, passenger Juan De Rios Cisneros, 30, died in a DUI crash on Cairo Avenue and Cesar Chavez Street.

The incident occurred at about 8:20 p.m. on Cairo Avenue and Cesar Chavez Street.

After the crash, the deputies declared a passenger dead at the scene. Meanwhile, responders transported the driver of that same vehicle to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Later reports revealed that police arrested the driver in the deadly accident on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).

Indeed, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department revealed his identity as 32-year-old Guermocindo Gonzalez. The Coachella man’s charges include for DUI causing homicide.

He is currently held in the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio .

Also, the crash led to the closure of Cesar Chavez Street between Ave 52 and Cairo Ave.
