Juan Carlos Poblete of Wildomar Killed in 15 Freeway Crash [Wildomar, CA]

Wildomar, CA (May 29, 2024) – Juan Carlos Poblete, 22, of Wildomar, and his passenger were killed in a 15 Freeway crash early Monday morning.

It was about 12:36 a.m. when the suspected DUI crash happened the southbound lanes of the freeway, north of Lemon Street.

The 1999 GMC Savana driven by Carlos Poblete veered off the right side of the freeway and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then continued back across the lanes, went up a dirt embankment and overturned.

Carlos Poblete and his 39-year-old male passenger were not wearing seat belts at that time. They were ejected from their van and died at the scene.

Officers suspect alcohol as a factor in this accident.
