Joy Lynn Jacobs Killed, Christopher Paul Myers Arrested after Crash on Broadway Boulevard [Tucson, AZ]

1 Dead in Tucson Three-Vehicle Accident on Broadway Boulevard near Jessica Avenue

 
TUCSON, AZ (June 6, 2021) – Friday night, Joy Lynn Jacobs died while Christopher Paul Myers was arrested after a crash on Broadway Boulevard.
 
The three-vehicle crash occurred at about 5:45 p.m. on N Jessica Avenue and E Broadway Boulevard.
 
When the officers arrived, they located a white 2000 Toyota Corolla, a black 2016 Dodge Charger, and a black 2018 Audi Q5.
 
The Tucson Fire medics transported two Toyota passengers to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. However, the 67-year-old passenger, Joy Lynn Jacobs, died upon arrival at the hospital. The authorities have notified the next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the investigation revealed that the Toyota Corolla made a left turn from eastbound Broadway onto northbound Jessica. On the other hand, the Dodge Charger headed west on Broadway through the intersection. Then, the Corolla veered in front of the Charger which led to the crash.
 
The impact caused the Corolla to lose control and struck the Audi that had stopped at a red light southbound on Jessica Avenue.
 
Moreover, a DUI officer revealed that the Corolla driver was impaired during the crash. They identified him as 39- year-old Christopher Paul Myers.
 
The factors that caused the crash were “failing to yield while attempting to make a left-turn and impaired driving.”
 
Also, the authorities charged Myers with manslaughter, criminal damage, and aggravated assault.
 
The officers booked the suspect into Pima County Jail.
 
Furthermore, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
