19-Year-Old Woman Fatally Injured by Car on the Intersection of San Jacinto Avenue and Esplanade Avenue
SAN JACINTO, CA (March 9, 2018) – A young woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on San Jacinto Avenue, late Friday evening.
The accident occurred just after 11:00 PM at the intersection of San Jacinto Avenue and Esplanade Avenue. 19-year-old Jovanna Perales of San Jacinto was walking north on the roadway against the Do Not Walk signal on San Jacinto Ave, when she was struck by a westbound Nissan Versa.
The vehicle was driving under a green light on Esplanade Ave. Perales was transported to the Hemet Valley Medical Center for treatment, and was later pronounced dead.
The intersection was closed for about three hours while authorities investigated. Officials from the San Jacinto Police Department urges anyone with more information on the fatal accident to call Deputy Cortez at (951) 487-7352.
