MANTECA, CA (July 17, 2019) – A Modesto man died in a two-vehicle collision in Manteca Friday afternoon.
The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Spreckels Avenue and Dupont Court shortly after 3:30 p.m. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said 28-year-old Joshua Timby was pinned in his car as a result.
The Manteca Fire Department personnel responded to the crash and extracted Timby from the car. They performed life-saving measures, but Timby died at the scene.
Emergency responders took the other driver, a 16-year-old boy who lives in Manteca, to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. However, there has been no update on his condition.
Officers said the teenage driver was cooperative in the investigation. However, his name will not be disclosed because he is a minor.
Only the two drivers occupy their respective vehicles, a 2012 Toyota Corolla and a 1974 Chevrolet pickup. In addition, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash as per the police.
