Samuel Caldwell and 2 Others Injured in Potter Valley Fatal Accident on Eel River Road near Gibson Lane

 
POTTER VALLEY, CA (December 29, 2022) – Early Monday morning, Joshua Michael Champion died in a traffic crash on Eel River Road near Gibson Lane.
 
The incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. on Eel River Road, south of Gibson Lane.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound 2016 Subaru Crosstrek veered across the double yellow lines. Then, it collided head-on with a northbound 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier.
 
Moreover, responders transported the Subaru driver, 18-year-old Samuel Caldwell, his 18-year-old male passenger, and the 19-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet. They all took them to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley with major injuries.
 
Also, officers confirmed that a 28-year-old passenger of the Chevy, identified as Joshua Michael Champion, died in the incident.
 
Furthermore, authorities believed that alcohol played a major role in the incident.
 
Meanwhile, the fatal crash remained under active investigation.
