Joseph Santos-Nelson Dead in Tucson Bicycle Accident

 
TUCSON, AZ (November 20, 2019) – A 22-year-old man died in a bicycle accident on Vista Overlook Drive on November 18.
 
The Tucson Police Department said that the 22-year-old Joseph Abdiel Santos-Nelson died shortly after responders took him to the hospital. The incident occurred just east of South Vista Overlook Drive on East 22nd Street, near South Prudence Road.
 
Joseph Santos-Nelson rode east in the westbound curb lane of 22nd Street when Chevrolet pickup struck him head-on. The driver stayed at the scene.
 
Police found out that the driver didn’t suffer from impairment and ruled out speed as a factor in the collision.
 
Meanwhile, Joseph Abdiel Santos-Nelson didn’t wear a helmet at the time of the crash.
