Joseph Ramirez Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on East Dinuba Avenue [Fresno County, CA]

19-Year-Old Man Dies in Collision with Semi-Truck near South Bethel Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 22, 2019) – Authorities identified 19-year-old Joseph Ramirez as the victim killed in a car crash near South Bethel Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on East Dinuba Avenue, at about 3:15 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a speeding Acura, driven by Ramirez, entered the opposite lane and slammed into a Freightliner big rig.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Ramirez dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a male passenger remains in critical condition at Community Regional Medical Center. The semi-truck driver did not sustain injuries in the crash.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash. Witnesses are encouraged to contact investigators as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
