Traffic Accident West of Elm Avenue Kills Bicyclist
Patterson, CA (January 12, 2023) – On Thursday afternoon, Joseph Prieto, a 51-year-old bicyclist sustained fatal injuries in an Almond Avenue bicycle collision.
It was about 3:15 p.m. when the deadly accident took place west of Elm Avenue.
Reports say was eastbound behind a slow-moving tractor-trailer when he moved directly into the path of a Chevrolet sedan.
The left front of the Chevrolet struck Prieto killing him at the scene.
The authorities investigating the collision said Joseph Prieto was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Moreover, the sedan driver, a 33-year-old Turlock woman, and her two passengers, girls ages 14 and 8, did not sustain injuries from the traffic accident west of Elm Avenue.
The CHP is investigating the fatal incident.
