ODESSA, TX (January 29, 2025) – Tuesday morning, authorities arrested Joseph Michael Jones after an alarming DUI crash on 1900 E 42nd Street.

The incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. at the 1900 block of E 42nd Street.

According to the Odessa Police Department, an Audi traveling at a high rate of speed collided with a Chevrolet Silverado. Then, the driver of the Audi fled the scene on foot without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders transported the 38-year-old driver of the Silverado to a hospital with serious head injuries.

Furthermore, officers managed to locate the suspect driver who was on foot and smelled strongly of alcohol. Then, officers arrested the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Joseph Michael Jones for Collision Involving Serious Bodily injury and Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle, both third-degree felonies.

Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that Joseph Michael Jones since been released on a combined $20,000 bond.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
