Joseph Jebbia Arrested in Deadly Crash on Highway 45 [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (August 9, 2024) – The authorities have arrested Joseph Jebbia following a fatal crash on Highway 45 Wednesday.

Troopers said Jebbia led authorities on a pursuit after they attempted to stop him on a aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant.

Jebbia evaded police and began driving recklessly. The accident report said he ran a red light and struck another vehicle. 

Jebbia’s vehicle then struck a woman in her 50s waiting at a bus stop at the intersection of I-45 and West Road.

It was unfortunate that the woman was killed in the accident.

The suspect driver continued driving and crashed when he reached Millwood Drive and Highway 249.  He was taken into custody and was booked in Harris County Jail.

Troopers said drugs believed to be at least a kilo of fentanyl, a loaded rifle, and a body armor, were found in his vehicle.

Houston Police Department is investigating.
