Jose Vargas Injured in Fatal Head-on Crash on Road 152 [Porterville, CA]

Jose Vargas Hospitalized Following Accident on Road 152 in Porterville

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (November 23, 2020) – Sunday morning, passenger Jose Vargas was injured, and a 41-year-old man died in a head-on crash on Road 152 and Avenue 180.
 
The incident happened at about 4:40 a.m. when the 41-year-old man driving a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander traveled along northbound Road 152 north of Avenue 180.
 
Then, he drove across the southbound lane and went into a 2020 Ram 3500 Dually towing a cattle trailer, spokesman Matthew Tyler said. As a result, both cars suffered major damage in the wreck.
 
The officials also pronounced the Uplander driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Ram truck driver, Gerardo Perez, 64, was uninjured. However, the passenger, Mr. Vargas, sustained a laceration to his head and was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment.
 
At this time, the authorities believe that alcohol played a role in the Porterville accident.
 
Due to the limited information, the authorities continue to investigate the fatal Road 152 collision.
