GARBERVILLE, CA (August 18, 2022) – Tuesday morning, Jose Piedra Villasenor suffered injuries in a deadly crash on State Route 162.
 
The incident happened at around 1:20 a.m. on State Route 162 west of milepost marker 8.30.
 
According to reports, Villasenor drove a red Ford Ranger with his passenger seated in the front right passenger seat.
 
Then, the Ford Ranger left the north roadway edge, went airborne, and overturned several times down a steep embankment.
 
As the Ford overturned, Jose Piedra Villasenor was ejected from the vehicle.

Eventually, the vehicle landed on its roof and the passenger sustained fatal injuries as a result of this collision.
 
At this time, the identity of the deceased remained unknown.
 
Meanwhile, responders airlifted Jose Piedra Villasenor to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where he received treatment for moderate injuries.
 
The California Highway Patrol, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Laytonville Fire Department, Little Lake Fire Department, and the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department all came to the scene.
