Araceli Saldana Arrested for DUI, Jose Lobato-Camareno Killed in Clark County Car Crash
CLARK COUNTY, NV (April 15, 2019) – Early Monday morning, 45-year-old Jose Lobato-Camarena was killed in a DUI car accident on the 15 Freeway.
Authorities responded around 6:30 AM, near Moapa Valley. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
To begin, 47-year old Araceli Saldana was driving north on the freeway in a white 2009 Nissan Altima, when she abruptly veered right for unknown reasons. She subsequently entered the nearby desert terrain when her vehicle began to roll.
The passenger was later identified as Lobato-Camarena. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time, and was consequently ejected from the car as a result.
First responders pronounced Lobato-Camareno dead on scene due to the impact. Saldana also sustained multiple injuries upon impact. She was later transported to University Medical Center where she was eventually released.
Authorities also arrested Saldana for driving under the influence resulting in death, and driving without a valid license.
Furthermore, the surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clean the scene, but has since reopened. No further details have been released at this time.
Our deepest thoughts are with the family and friends of Jose Lobato-Camarena.
