22-Year-Old Man Killed and One Injured after Car Crashes into Tree on 900 Block of N McKinley St
CORONA, CA (March 10, 2018) – A wet road crash in Corona took the life of a man, and seriously injured one other, on Saturday night at 11:11 PM.
According to witnesses, a white Mercedes heading north on the 900 block of North McKinley Street lost control and struck a tree. The wet roads are suspected to be one of the contributing factors in the accident.
Other factors, such as the vehicle’s speed and possible driving impairments, are also being investigated.
Riverside officials identified 22-year-old Joron Portis as the victim killed in the crash. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead at the scene at around 11:20 PM. The other person inside the car was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. It is unclear who was driving and who was the passenger.
The second victim’s name hasn’t been released yet to the public.
