TURLOCK, CA (February 27, 2023) – Late Saturday night, authorities arrested Jorge Vasquez following a hit-and-run crash on Vassar Avenue.

At around 11:20 p.m. the Turlock Police Department responded to a hit-and-run incident on Vassar Avenue. Reports revealed that a pickup truck collided with a house before fleeing the scene.

Meanwhile, a vigilant citizen heard the police scanner and spotted the suspect vehicle. Thus, officers managed to track down the truck at an apartment complex on Lander Avenue.

Upon arriving, officers found the vehicle had been involved in a second, minor collision with a parked car. They also found its driver, Jorge Vasquez, standing nearby. Officers confirmed that Vasquez appeared to be intoxicated.

When officers attempted to detain Vasquez, he became combative and was placed under arrest.

Subsequent breath tests revealed that Vasquez had a blood alcohol content above the legal limit. Thus, he was charged with multiple offenses, including driving under the influence and causing bodily harm to another person, as well as fleeing the scene of an accident.
