Jordan Navarro Arrested in Deadly Car Accident on Highway 101 [Chualar, CA]

One Killed and 7 Hospitalized in Chualar Car Collision

 
CHUALAR, CA (February 25, 2019) – Monday morning, a man died and seven other people were injured in a deadly crash on Highway 101.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:30 AM near Old Stage Road.
 
As per reports, 19-year-old Jordan Navarro was driving a Jeep Cherokee when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, he eventually struck the concrete median, overturned, and collided with oncoming traffic. Navarro hit a Pontiac Grand Prix, Acura RSX, and a Saturn VUE.
 
Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the 50-year-old Pontiac driver dead at the scene. The name of the deceased male has not yet been released, pending notification of kin.
 
The Acura driver, 19-year-old Liseth Perez, and her passenger sustained minor injuries. The Saturn driver, 19-year-old Miguel Sanchez, and three of his passengers also suffered minor injuries.
 
Navarro sustained major injuries including broken ribs as well as spinal and back fractures. All the victims were transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas. Their current medical conditions are unclear at this time.
 
Authorities stated Navarro is being charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Furthermore, he was charged with driving without a licence and possession of a controlled substance.
 
Due to the deadly crash on Highway 101, it was closed off for a few hours for cleanup and preliminary investigation. Authorities have since reopened the highway at around 2:00 PM. No further details have been disclosed to the public, as the investigation continues.
