Officers Investigate Traffic Collision on Mary Avenue
Tehama County, CA (March 25, 2023) – On Thursday, Jonathan Rodriguez, 19, of Corning, and Cristoval Rubio, 21, of Chico, sustained injuries in a vehicle collision on South Avenue.
The traffic collision took place before 8 a.m. in the area of Mary Avenue.
According to CHP Red Bluff, Rodriguez was driving a westbound 1999 Chevrolet on South Avenue, behind Lorena Sandoval, 43, of Corning in a 2018 Jeep.
Rubio was driving an eastbound 2001 Mitsubishi on South Avenue.
The vehicles ahead of Rodriguez and Sandoval suddenly slowed causing Sandoval to drift to the right and Rodriguez to swerve to the left.
Rodriguez’s vehicle then crashed Rubio’s and debris from the crash struck Sandoval’s Jeep.
CAL FIRE had to extricate Rubio out of his vehicle and transport the victim to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Rodriguez sustained minor injuries and Sandoval was not injured in the accident.
Officers are investigating the traffic collision on Mary Avenue.
