Jonathan Davenport Dies in Highway 121 Rear-End Collision [Fannin, TX]

Jessica Bradford and Abbas Zeerak Injured in Fannin Fatal Collision

Fannin, TX (January 28, 2023) – On January 26, Jonathan Davenport, 57, from Whitewright, TX, died, while Abbas Zeerak, 38, from McKinney, TX, and Jessica Bradford, 47, from Garland, TX, sustained injuries in a Highway 121 rear-end collision.

The fatal collision took place at about 6:45 p.m. at County Road 4642.

Authorities said Abbas Zeerak was driving a southbound 2017 Ford Transit behind Jonathan Davenport in a 2002 Ford Explorer. 

Davenport slowed down to make a left-hand turn onto County Road 4642 but Zeerak failed to control the speed of his vehicle and rear-ended Davenport. 

The impact of the collision caused Jonathan Davenport’s vehicle to veer into the northbound lane where he was struck by Jessica Bradford in a 2016 Jeep Trail Hawk.

Sadly, Jonathan Davenport was declared dead at the scene. 

Rescuers rushed Abbas Zeerak to Baylor Medical Center in McKinney, TX, with serious injuries. Also, the medical rescuers took Jessica Bradford to Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX, with stable injuries. 

Officers are investigating the Fannin fatal collision.
