Two-Vehicle Collision on O’Byrnes Ferry Road Leaves Jonathan Branaugh and Joshua Fernandes Injured

Jamestown, CA (July 18, 2020)– A head-on collision on O’Byrnes Ferry Road injured Jonathan Branaugh and Joshua Fernandes on Thursday.

Moreover, traffic delays followed after a two-vehicle collision occurred on July 16 on O’Byrnes Ferry Road at about 5:45 a.m.

Additionally, morning commuters were affected as one lane of the road was blocked due to the incident.

Upon arrival, the CHP identified the man driving a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer as 35-year-old Jonathan Branaugh from Tracy. Branaugh was traveling northbound near the Sierra Conservation Center at the speed of 50-55 mph.

He then sped up to 65 mph to pass a big rig; however, he did not see an oncoming vehicle. Branaugh and a Ford F-550 pickup, driven by 33-year-old Joshua Fernandes of Angels Camp, collided head-on.

As a result, the Chevrolet overturned.

Consequently, Branaugh suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. Meanwhile, a land ambulance took Fernandes to Adventist Health, Sonora.

Furthermore, CHP believed that neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the serious collision.

Indeed, driving can be very dangerous and almost anything can happen if you are not prepared. Therefore, it is important to always drive within the posted speed limit. Slow down if you see traffic stalling ahead to avoid hitting other vehicles.
