Jon Jones Dies in South Kolb Road Head-On Collision [Tucson, AZ]

Tucson, AZ (October 02, 2022) – On Oct 13, Jon Jones, 55, sustained fatal injuries while the authorities arrested Rasson Howell, 33, in a DUI head-on collision on South Kolb Road.

The traffic incident happened just before 8 a.m. East Stella Road.

Public Information Officer Seargent Richard Gradillas says the Buick driven by Rasson Howell was southbound on Kolb Road but failed to stop at a red light. 

As a result, the vehicle collided with an eastbound Toyota driven by Jon Jones.

Right away, the paramedics rushed Jon Jones to a hospital where he died Friday.

Investigators say Rasson Howell was impaired at the time of the collision

Police then arrested and booked him with charges of aggravated DUI, aggravated assault, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Due to Jones’ passing, police will update Rasson Howell’s charges with the Pima County Attorney‘s Office.

In the meantime, officers are investigating the Tucson fatal collision.
