40-Year-Old Man Booked for Multiple Collisions on Chester Avenue

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 15, 2018) – A man was responsible for multiple hit-and-run accidents that started on Chester Avenue, on Tuesday afternoon. He was identified as 40-year-old Johnnie Moore.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the collisions started around 2:15 PM. Moore was involved in a non-injury hit-and-run on the 100 block of Chester Avenue, near 1st Street, before he fled.
 
The second incident was reported at the 10 block of South Chester Avenue near Brundage Lane. As Moore attempted to flee from the scene, he backed up into an unoccupied Bakersfield Police Department Service Technician’s truck. Officers chased the man in a short-lived and slow-speed chase, before he left his car in the 1400 block of Cheatham Avenue, and ran away on foot.
 
Authorities caught him near Cottonwood Road and East Casa Loma Drive, and took Moore into custody shortly after. He was arrested for DUI, three counts of felon hit-and-run, evading, and resisting arrest. After receiving medical clearance at a nearby hospital, he was booked into the Kern Medical County Jail.
 
One person from the second hit-and-run collision reported pain and injuries. No other injuries were reported.
