Petaluma Motorcycle Hit and Run on Highway 101 Leaves John Wallace Injured

 
PETALUMA, CA (April 28, 2021) – Monday afternoon, John Wallace suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101 and Petaluma Boulevard.
 
The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 101, north of Petaluma Boulevard.
 
According to witness reports, the motorcycle skidded along the lane and struck a Volkswagen Golf. The impact caused minor damage and ejected the rider.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the GMC truck fled the scene, and remains at large.
 
“We don’t know if there was contact (between the motorcycle and a GMC Sierra truck). Or if it was enough movement to cause it (the motorcycle) to crash,” CHP spokesman David deRutte revealed.
 
“If you were next to a lane where a motorcycle went down, you’d think that person would stop and offer help,” deRutte added.
 
As a result, motorcyclist John Wallace sustained a broken wrist and a possible broken forearm. Also, he sustained road rash on the left side and part of the right side of his body because he was “tumbling up the freeway at 65 miles per hour.”
 
Wallace indeed said that the truck hit his motorcycle. Authorities classified the event as a hit and run.
