FedEx Driver Hit and Killed while Aiding Motorist on Las Vegas Boulevard near Via Inspirada
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 22, 2019) – A Federal Express driver was killed after being struck by a cement truck Thursday evening in Las Vegas, authorities said.
Around 10:30 p.m., the FedEx driver pulled over on the shoulder of Las Vegas Boulevard near Via Inspirada to help the driver of a 1993 Corvette, which had caught fire, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
As the victim was crossing Las Vegas Boulevard with a fire extinguisher, he was struck by a cement mixer. He died at the scene.
The Clark County coroner’s office identified him as John Stacy, 60, of Pahrump.
The driver of the cement truck remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
Impairment did not appear to be a factor, according to NHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
