49-Year-Old Eastvale Man Dies after Head-On Collision near Jurupa Avenue

RIVERSIDE, CA (November 2, 2018) – A man was killed early Friday morning following a traffic collision near Jurupa Avenue. The victim was later identified as 49-year-old John Kelley, a resident of Eastvale.

According to the Riverside Police Department, the incident took place at about 6:00 AM. A Ford Focus, driven by the Kelley, was heading south on Van Buren Boulevard when it ran through a red light and attempted to make a left turn.

As the vehicle entered the intersection, it collided head-on with a northbound silver Hyundai.

Kelley suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later. Meanwhile, the unidentified Hyundai driver was also hospitalized with moderate injuries. Further updates on the driver’s current medical condition were not provided.
