John Jones Killed in Highway 50 Accident Near Mark Twain Avenue
DAYTON, NV (January 30, 2020)—A Dayton man died Sunday night after being struck by at least one vehicle on Highway 50 near Mark Twain Avenue.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:43 p.m. According to investigators, 63-year-old Dayton resident John Elvis Jones was operating an ATV on the far-right lane, just west of Mark Twain Avenue. For unclear reasons, he dismounted his Bombardier ATV, leaving it unattended in the left lane. Subsequently, a Dodge Journey struck him in the far-right lane.
Other reports say at least two other vehicles struck him, one of which had been a hit-and-run vehicle; however, authorities are investigating this account to determine what had truly transpired.
