John Hamilton Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Laguna Vista Drive [Menifee, CA]

75-Year-Old John Hamilton Struck and Killed in Menifee on Rockport Road

 
Menifee, CA – On Wednesday, at about 7:30 p.m., 75-year-old John Hamilton was struck and killed in an accident on Laguna Vista Drive.
 
Menifee police Capt. Chris Karrer said the victim was hit by a motorist while he was walking north on Laguna Vista Drive within the marked crossing.
 
Karrer also said the driver yielded for a stop sign; however, he did not see the senior step into the roadway until it was already late.
 
“The pedestrian was knocked to the ground and sustained severe head trauma,” the captain said.
 
Meanwhile, the 59-year-old involved driver from Menifee, whose name was withheld, stopped and called 911.
 
Cal Fire and Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the scene within a few minutes. They rushed the victim to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.
 
However, he died shortly after arriving to the hospital.
 
“The primary cause of the collision is still under investigation, but there is no suspected alcohol or drugs involved,” Karrer said.
