Joel Edwards Dies, 2 Deputies Hospitalized in Reno Motorcycle Crash on Geiger Grade
RENO, NV (October 18, 2020) – Friday afternoon, 74-year-old Joel Edwards died, and two deputies were injured in a motorcycle crash on Geiger Grade.
The crash occurred around 4:50 p.m. in Reno, the Nevada Highway Patrol revealed.
According to reports, the incident occurred when troopers came to a crash between a Washoe County Sheriff’s SUV and a motorcycle. The incident took place in front of the 7/11 on Geiger Grade.
Consequently, Joel Edwards, a Sparks resident, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Due to the crash, responders also transported two deputies to the hospital with minor injuries.
Moreover, the authorities shut down Geiger Grade and Highway 341 in both directions for multiple hours.
Furthermore, the cause of the fatal Reno motorcycle accident remains under active investigation.
