1 Dead and 3 Hurt in Jackpot Car Crash on Highway 93
JACKPOT, NV (September 17, 2019) – A Caldwell female resident died in a pickup truck and car crash on Highway 93 on September 16.
The incident occurred at 2:41 a.m. on Highway 93 just north of Jackpot, Nevada. The Idaho State Police said that 21-year-old Joanna V. Gramajo Reyes traveled north in a Ford F250 towing a van on a trailer behind it. Meanwhile, a southbound Ford F-150 driven by 38-year-old Weston M. Jones of Kimberly drove over the centerline and crashed into the other pickup.
Authorities pronounced Joanna Gramajo Reyes dead at the scene. Responders also transported three other pickup occupant to St. Luke’s Magic Valley in Twin Falls.
Jones didn’t suffer any injury in the collision.
In addition, police confirmed that Reyes wore a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
Authorities shut down both directions of Highway 93 while crews worked at the scene. However, the police are still investigating the collision.
