Passenger Joanna Lalonde Injured in Alderpoint Road Collision [Garberville, CA]

Garberville, CA (April 8, 2025) – A 23-year-old passenger, Joanna Lalonde, was injured in an Alderpoint Road collision Sunday afternoon.

It was around 2:12 p.m. on April 6 when the vehicle crash happened east of Quarry Road. 

Officers said a Toyota driven by 40-year-old Kevin Kay was traveling west when it ran off the road and crashed onto a tree. 

Kevin Kay incurred major injuries, while the passenger, Joanna Lalonde, was moderately injured.

Immediately, both Lalonde and Kay were airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Redding.

The CHP Garberville Area Office is investigating the cause of the vehicle crash.
