Woman Dies After Jet Ski Collision on Lacamas Lake in Camas

Camas, WA (August 9, 2024) – On Thursday, a woman died in a jet ski collision on Lacamas Lake.

On Thursday, Aug. 8, at 7:11 p.m., a 911 call was made from Lacamas Lake, reporting that a woman had been pulled from the water following a collision between two personal watercraft, according to the Camas-Washougal Fire Department and Camas Police Department.

Authorities stated that the two jet ski drivers knew each other. The crash caused a woman and a 10-year-old child to be thrown into the water. Both were wearing life jackets. 

A nearby boater was able to rescue the woman and child from the water, and lifesaving efforts were performed on the woman. 

The child and the other jet ski driver were not injured. 

The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
