PHOENIX, AZ (February 28, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, authorities arrested Jesus Soto after a hit-and-run crash near 15th Avenue.
 
The incident happened at around 1:05 p.m. near 15th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
 
According to reports, an eastbound Kia Optima struck a Toyota Prius attempting a left-hand turn into the southbound lanes. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Kia to strike a pole. As a result, the engine of the vehicle separated from the body. Also, the Kia driver, Jesus Soto, fled the scene on foot after the crash.
 
Moreover, responders transported the male driver of the Prius with a head injury to the hospital. Also, they transported two passengers of the Kia with non-life-threatening injuries to a hospital for treatment.
 
Furthermore, authorities managed to locate, arrest, and book Soto with one count of fleeing the scene of an injury collision.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
