Jesus Perez Arrested After Crashing Into Santa Ana Police Vehicle, Selina Resendiz Yanez Killed

 
Santa Ana, CA (November 22, 2020) – On Friday, a passenger died while police arrested Jesus Perez of Santa Ana in a DUI crash on Washington Avenue.
 
The fatal Santa Ana crash took place at about 11:20 PM.
 
Two Santa Ana police officers were seated in their parked police unit on Washington Avenue and Lowell Street. Just then, a Honda crashed head-on into their patrol vehicle.
 
Orange County Fire Authority paramedics immediately responded to the scene.
 
They treated the officers and people riding the Honda before they took them all to a nearby hospital.
 
Unfortunately, authorities later pronounced an occupant in the vehicle, passenger Selina Resendiz Yanez, dead.
 
Meanwhile, authorities arrested Perez, the Honda driver, on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
 
Furthermore, authorities said it appeared the vehicle was traveling east on Washington Avenue when it collided with the parked police unit.
 
Police released showed major front-end damage to both vehicles. The Honda’s windshield appeared smashed.
 
The authorities continue to investigate the deadly crash.
